About the course
SNSP for SonicOS 7 is SonicWall's expert-level training and certification programme. It expands on the SNSA with a deeper look at SonicOS 7 and advanced firewall configuration and administration. You will learn to monitor, investigate, analyse and configure SonicWall next-generation firewalls for advanced secure and remote connectivity, network optimisation and threat prevention, and demonstrate the product expertise needed to defend against modern cyber threats.
Entry requirement: you must already be SNSA certified
Only SNSA or SNSP certification holders can register for the SNSP class or eLearning. Your certificate must be current (within its 2-year active period) or have expired in the last three months. Your exam is included in the course fee
- One exam attempt is included, taken online through SonicWall University after completing both the eLearning and the instructor-led class
- 60 questions in 180 minutes, with a pass mark of 75%, covering all eLearning and classroom content
- Proctored: use a single-monitor computer with a working webcam and microphone; no additional resources other than Google Translate
- Your score is shown immediately, and your certificate is emailed once results are published, within four business days
- Certification is valid for two years. If you don't pass first time, another attempt can be purchased from SonicWall University

Do I need the SNSA before the SNSP?
Yes. You must hold an SNSA for SonicOS 7, SNSA 6.5 or SNSP 6.5 certificate that is current or expired within the last three months. If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact us and we will check before you book.
Is the SNSP course online?
Yes. The instructor-led class is delivered online over 2 days as live, interactive training, so you can attend from anywhere in South Africa.
Is the SNSP exam included?
Yes. Your course includes one attempt at the official SNSP certification exam. A further attempt can be purchased from SonicWall University if needed.
What is the SNSP exam format?
The exam is taken online after the course: 60 questions in 180 minutes, with a pass mark of 75%. It is proctored, so you need a single-monitor computer with a working webcam and microphone.
What is the difference between SNSA and SNSP?
SNSA covers the core skills to implement and manage SonicWall firewalls. SNSP is expert level, adding advanced topics such as the SonicOS API and CLI, advanced routing and SD-WAN, DPI-SSL/TLS and DPI-SSH, advanced application control, Capture ATP and DNS security.
How long is the SNSP certification valid?
Two years from the date you pass. You can recertify once for a further two years by passing the same exam within three months of expiry.
